I saw loads of tadpoles and eggs swimming in a pond last spring, it was full of tiny busy black creatures. I was imagining what would happen to the small pond when they became frogs – there would be so much merrymaking, nobody could stop their jumping around! But apparently most of them have since gone somewhere and they were very calm, just resting in a shade:) They are still so tiny, like sultanas…I wonder if they will grow up more?

It’s been quite a while with our new happy funny tiny alien! He is 6months old today. The first month after he was born, I really felt the time went so slow but after that, everyday is so fast! He brought us loads of laughter and tears, made my life meaningful!!!
Today, I opened my Etsy shop again after the uncontrollable mumsie time. I just wanna say a big thank you to all who have been waiting for my shop to come back:) And also thank you for your many warm messages through Etsy!!!!

The new items have been added in my Etsy shop!
Wildflower bouquets painted in “S” and “P” letters on white porcelain salt and pepper shaker pots. I enjoy doing this tiny fine painting more than working on big pieces:) I painted this for a wedding gift for my friend and I’m glad she was absolutely delighted! So, I guess these could be a great gift for someone’s special day as well!

How quick time goes…. These last couple of months have been a bit crazy! This has become a lazy excuse for an empty blog:) Since the beginning of 2013, I got more and more orders for the roootreee products which is amazing! Also, two other big thingys came together – the one of them was moving house, I was surprised at how much stuff we have, there was loads which I didn’t expect…it just made me dizzy! I like moving though. Most boxes are opened and under control now but we still need some more time to create a more comfortable home! The other big thingy is …….. I’m having a baby!!! I’ve been waiting for this moment for ages…and finally our tiny edamame bean is growing in my belly:) Well, not an edamame bean any more because I’m 5 months now. I’m feeling great after the car sick period and dizzy moments over the last 2 or 3 months! So, I’ll start collecting baby items and preparing things in a frenzy soon. That would be fun!!!

Just realized I haven’t done much blogging recently! Well, I was doing some craft fairs (Brighton craft fair and Makers Boutique!) and I’ve been in a painting frenzy! That’s my excuse anyway! Gladly, I’ve had lots of orders including a wholesale order and of course more paintings ready for craft fairs.
I’ve heard after Christmas that sales would be quieter than usual but this is not the case in my experience! I’m having the busiest time since I started roootreee. So, I feel very sorry for my customers who have to wait for their items! Thank you so much for your patience!!! (If you are looking this blog!)
Today, it was a nice and sunny Sunday, I finally went shopping for a mother’s day gift. Mother’s day in the UK is in March, but we have mother’s day in May in Japan so I easily forget about it…but this year, craft fairs reminded me to get some gifts:) So, I got a lovely handmade butterfly necklace and a pretty butterfly patterned box for it! Perfect! I shouldn’t put photos of them in this blog because she sometimes visits here:D
We are moving flat next month and also some other new brilliant stuff is happening in our life……busy but soooo excited!!!!

More from the “Not only grass – wildflowers” series! A bunny rabbit, a polar bear and some sheep!!!! All designs are outlined against hand painted wild flower meadows on a white porcelain plate. Hang these happy and bright plates on your wall!
Firstly I just cut some thick paper into an animal shape and then stuck it onto a plate, then painted it like a stencil. But porcelain paint is very thick and sticky like enamel when it gets dry, so after I finished all the painting it was difficult to remove the paper without destroying the painting! I thought this was a quicker way to achieve it, but it wasn’t 😀 Maybe I will have to think about suitable designs for the stencil way and a proper stencil paper as well. So, I just lined up a shape with some carbon on a plate and painted carefully as usual. It takes longer but I like the deep concentration that this involves:)
Well, wildflowers again!! I must be looking forward to spring.

My new items for 2013!
The “Humming buttons” and the “Not only grass – Wild flowers” designs on teapots. The teapot is fine bone china with a warm ivory white colour base and quite good size, holds about 3-4 cups of tea – ideal if you have company. I am gonna have one of them for myself and enjoy my favourite fresh mint tea soon!!!

Hope you all had a lovely Xmas and got loads presents!
My most enjoyable Xmas pressies 2012 were from my mister. Some old books – 60’s The Oxford Book of Flowerless Plants, Birds, Garden Flowers! We always do “surprise presents” for Xmas and my mister gave me 7 presents in total! (Thanks a lot!!) So, these books were part of his gifts. He knew that I already have The Oxford Book of Wild flowers and I love the drawings. Then of course I fell in love with the whole series of books.
The Oxford Book Of Flowerless Plants! This is amazing. All about mushrooms, moss, Lichen, seaweed and fern etc. The drawings are very interesting, they look like Sci-Fi creatures.
Then The Oxford Book of Birds and Garden flowers which are beeeeautiful and they also have a little bit of a dark atmosphere as well.
Well, we have only 1 day until 2013!!! Time goes so quick…
Anyway, I wish you all a very happy new year!!!!

Get ready for a mountain walk!!!
Does Dartmoor have any mountains? We walked up to Black Tor in Northern Dartmoor with a guide. The way was really muddy, wet grasslands and rough with rocks (like Rohan in The Load of the Rings!) and our waterproof walking boots were soaking wet. It wasn’t too hard though, not like climbing a real mountain at all.
This area was amazing – all covered with moss even on the trees!! It was really natural art…..my photos can’t really tell you about it fully, but it was such fantastic atmosphere….I wished I didn’t have a guide, so I could have stayed there for a while.
Moving to Durlston Head, Swanage, Dorset.
My first Robin this winter!!!!
