Hand painted ceramics – plate / cup and saucer / mug – Red roof hut in a landscape
November 7, 2012 § 3 Comments
This hut with a red roof and black walls was inspired from the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve —->photo, and then mixed with this —>photo
There was a fishing hut in an empty landscape. I was very attracted to this scenery and started painting it. This hut is my current favourite subject to paint at the moment. The scene and location reminds me of the Derek Jarman’s garden actually, which is in Dungeness near Rye. A Black roofed and black walled cottage with a dry garden on a beach…maybe that is the style around there. I wanted to visit the garden but unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to go there at that time. Anyway, I wanted some wintry atmosphere so, I added bluish green conifers on the edge of the field which makes it cute!
