Hand painted ceramics – Plate – Wildflowers

January 27, 2013 § Leave a comment

More from the “Not only grass – wildflowers” series!  A bunny rabbit, a polar bear and some sheep!!!! All designs are outlined against hand painted wild flower meadows on a white porcelain plate. Hang these happy and bright plates on your wall!

Firstly I just cut some thick paper into an animal shape and then stuck it onto a plate, then painted it like a stencil.  But porcelain paint is very thick and sticky like enamel when it gets dry, so after I finished all the painting it was difficult to remove  the paper without destroying the painting!  I thought this was a quicker way to achieve it, but it wasn’t 😀  Maybe I will have to think about suitable designs for the stencil way and a proper stencil paper as well. So, I just lined up a shape with some carbon on a plate and painted carefully as usual. It takes longer but I like the deep concentration that this involves:)

Well,  wildflowers again!!  I must be looking forward to spring.
